Leeds are currently closing in on a deal for in-demand Swedish defender Joel Ekstrand. The 27 year old defender has recently left Watford after a successful spell at the club that saw them promoted, and stay in the Premier League.

Ekstrand was initially loaned to Watford from Udinese, and joined the club on a permanent basis. He is known for being a solid defender who likes to take control of things at the back. The deal comes as Leeds continue to strengthen despite the news of Lewis Cook’s departure.

The deal has swung around in our favour with other clubs seemingly in front of us in the race for his signature. It seems to be another shrewd addition, and fans on social media are in agreement it’s would be a good deal. The thought of Cook’s departure still lingers in everyone’s mind.

Leeds are also said to be getting nearer to a deal with Liam Bridcutt and Sunderland as well, something we would all welcome at the club.
